How to filter out fake/abnormal products

PreviousHow Metric records dataNextFeatures

Last updated 8 months ago

Some products sold by shops on Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, and Sendo involve fraudulent orders to artificially increase the number of sold items. To conduct an objective analysis and eliminate this issue, the Metric filter tool provides built-in support for you as you can select “Filter fake/abnormal products” and then click “Analyze”.

The feature “Filter fake/abnormal products” with multiple different criteria helps you exclude those products suspected of creating fake orders.

In this built-in filter, varying among those E-commerce platforms, Metric would eliminate products with total reviews lower than a specific percentage of total sold products.

For example: For Shopee, the ratio is 3%; whereas for Lazada, Sendo, Tiktok, the figure is 2%. But for Tiki, it is only 1%.

However, you could personally alter this factor by unchecking the option “Filter fake/abnormal products”, selecting “Show advanced filter” and adding a parameter applying another filter according to your preferences.

For instance, you could adjust the new filter to Total review higher than 0,05x of total sold.

Caution:

Uncheck the option “Filter fake/abnormal products” to not apply the default filter of Metric.
